Demon's Lexicon in Spanish

I am currently in Mexico at a writing retreat, about which more anon! But I thought I would emerge from my land of sunshine, mangos and frantic typing to show you the cover of the Demon's Lexicon in Spanish. It comes out from Versatil next month (in Spain - my presence in Mexico is totally unrelated), and I am super excited!

I always like to see another of the Many Faces of Nick, and this Nick has both his sword, his talisman and a most excellent atmospheric background! (Also, the ravens. Ravens follow him wherever he goes. Why do birds suddenly appear, every time he draws near?)

I hope you guys like it too!

This may be my favorite cover yet. Nice composition with great coloring so it's dark and mysterious.

Oh... I love the font... and the ravens and the background - so eerie! Sword and talisman rock too! However, I'm not quite sure if I like his haircut... XD
It's still a wonderful cover, though. :)
Hope you enjoy Mexico!

Why do birds suddenly appear, every time he draws near?

I'm glad I wasn't ingesting anything when I read that, because it would have ended up all over my keyboard.

This Nick has quite the interesting hairdo. I don't imagine Nick would actually put in the effort it looks like it would require, but he is quite suitably pretty and muscled.

Well, Nick has messy hair that sticks up, so I like to think one day the bedhead just created this look. ;)

I enjoy how Spanish!Nick actually looks fifteen! That's always nice, when the actors/models portraying teenage characters can actually pass as teenagers.

His hair kind of makes his ear look like pixie ears, which is a little distracting.

YES!!! LET'S SEE HOW IT DIFFERS IN MY OWN LANGUAGE :D!!!!
The fact it's called "La Marca del Demonio" (Demon's Mark) and not "El Léxico del Demonio" or "El Diccionario del Demonio" is interesting

Yes, that publisher title-translation choice is odd. That said, though, "The Demon's Dictionary" just doesn't have the same ring somehow (grin).

What a pretty cover! I've been reading your blog for a while now, and just last week finally got a chance to read the Demon's Lexicon and the Demon's Covenant. I had to delurk to say how much I enjoyed them both! And the twist completely caught me by surprise, even though in retrospect I felt like I should have known better, which is just the way a twist should be.

So thank you, both for writing this blog (which I enjoy), and for writing books which I really enjoyed too.

I am so pleased you read, enjoyed and delurked! I love a twist myself, so I am terribly glad mine worked for you.

Sarah, do you know who's translating?

Any idea if this will be the edition for the whole Spanish-speaking world or just Mexico? I must confess I haven't heard of Versatil down here, but then again the market is only starting to recover after quite a few bad years...

It is just Spain, I believe. The publisher is Spain-based, anyway. My presence in Mexico is totally unrelated.

I am afraid I do not know the name of the translator!

I NEED THIS BOOK. I need to hunt down a bookseller or website that will ship from Mexico to America! I looked high and low in bookstores when I was in Spain, but after a while I realized that it hadn't come out in Spanish yet... This is so exciting! The cover is absolutely lovely, and I can't wait to compare the translation to the original!

On the day that Nick was born the demons got together,
And decided to create a Hellish braaaaat,
So they sprinkled psychosis in his hair,
And howling emptiness in his eyes so blaaaaack (plinky-pink, plinky-plink)

And yet somehow all the girls in town STILL follow him all around. Hmmm.
