Teen Wolf

lunatics
So, my resolution to blog more! How about blogging hilarious TV? I have rarely seen TV more hilarious than Teen Wolf.

I will give any show with elements of ze supernatural a chance, because I love me some fantasy. The basic premise of this show seems to be: People sure do like that Twilight! If we did a show all about werewolves, it would just be about the shirtless dudes in Twilight, and SURELY everyone would like that.

Fine by me, as I am devoted to The Vampire Diaries, also building on the popularity of Twilight. I was excited!

I watched half the pilot, and myself and the roomie gave up in disgust. Then a few months passed... I heard there was an actual gay character (In a supernatural show? Not a metaphor? Not subtext? An actual gay character? Actually?)... we gave it another try. Had our standards lowered, had we gone mad, did it get better? Who can say. But we watched the whole season.

Without further ado I present to you the tale of the Most Useless Werewolf In the World, and the People Who (Inexplicably) Love Him.

WELCOME TO BEACON HILLS

POPULATION: 2375.
SHIRTS: 4.
LACROSSE FANS: 2375 (there was one dude in Beacon Hills who wasn't a lacrosse fan, but the werewolves killed that guy.)

!!!!

I just laughed out loud for the entirety of this! Scott's ridiculous habit of putting his romance with Alison above everything else including PEOPLES' LIVES!!!

Derek's face :(

Stiles and Lydia basically saving the day all the time.

Lydia and Alison needing better characterization.

THIS IS AMAZING!!!!

Haha omg, I totally caught an episode of this on tv when I stayed up too late one night - the one where they were all trapped in a darkened school together - and I put it on my list of shows to watch at some point, because it was ridiculous and cheesy but also lots of fun. And this parody totally makes me want to watch it even more (even though I've now been spoilered for everything, I guess. Whatever, it doesn't seem like the plot is the reason to watch this anyway *grins*.)

AMAZING.

Except...this show is about...California's obsession with lacrosse? What? I did a report on the origins of lacrosse for my 4th grade class in California, and I assumed it was a game only played in the 16th century by Native Americans in Florida until I moved to Massachusetts in middle school and found out that people actually still played it. Where I was from, people only played water polo and soccer.

Thanks for this. I don't know if I'd actually watch TW, but now I'm not sure I need to - I fail to see how it could top your summary.

This made me laugh and also made me remember how much I loved the K-drama summary with the ex-nun and the murderface and the boy band you did a while back...have you done an update that I missed??? I must check to see...

I could, perhaps, actually watch the show, but I feel that it would pale in comparison with reading your take on it instead. :)

You know, I actually kinda like Teen Wolf, in a guilty pleasure sort of way. It reminds me a lot of Big Wolf on Campus, only with less cheese and (slightly) better special effects.

However, I too was getting right aggravated with the whole Allison/Scott thing. I don't like relationships in my shows to begin with, a relationship that gets in the way of plot is the absolute worst kind of relationship to have. Also, until I found out he was Executive Producer for the show, I kept watching every episode waiting for the death of JR Bourne. Because he dies in everything he is in, much like Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

You should watch Haven. I think you would love it. It's full of people with unfeasibly white teeth, running around solving supernatural crimes. The main character is a girl who is perfectly capable of kicking butt, taking names and pointing guns at people, but knows bitchy =/= strong just like nice =/= weak. Her partner (for whom she is obviously destined, but she's currently ignoring that to date a misanthropic marine biologist whose curse is that everyone he meets LIKES him. His power doesn't work on her; she had him at 'you know, you're kind of a jerk') does a lot of manly squinting and Bat Man voice, has daddy issues and also has no sense of touch. Also, she may possibly be her own mother.

Seriously. I think you'd love it.

Ha, um, I may have watched the whole series in one day today... Nothing better to do on sick leave. It's amazing how accurate for the whole thing your parody reads after watching the show. :)

This is LOLarious, but I wonder:

Why is Scott the lead? Seriously, nothing you've said makes me think he's in any way interesting or someone I'd want to follow around. Is he popular with *anyone*? A quick skim of FFN says that the target demo agrees with you that Derek & Stiles *should* be the male leads.

Also, why does everyone have dark hair? Shows set in California high schools need more blond(e)s to be believable ... also, it makes it hard for my brain to keep all the guys straight if they all have the same "look".

So today, I watched all of Teen Wolf, and I had The. Best. Time. My favorite line is quite possibly "In my day, we used to play Basketball." Also, anything that comes out of Stiles' mouth. I cannot be bothered to learn Teen Wolf's name, so I just refer to him as Teen Wolf. Oh, Teen Wolf. Your impotent rage makes me laugh.

Also, I find it HILARIOUS that Beacon Hills is supposed to be in California. Yeah, the California that's in VANCOUVER. Or actually Georgia.

Best part of the show? That this is verbatim:
UNCLE PETER: Scott's user name is Allison? ... Scott's password is also Allison?
STILES: Still want him in your pack?

Supernatural TV with a sense of humor. Stiles, never change.

this caused loads of inappropriately loud guffaws at work. It's stuff like this(and all the smutty, smutty fic) that makes me fangirl a show I have never seen.

Hahahaaaaaaa, this is priceless! I only watched the first three episodes and then couldn't stand it anymore. But I can see how your interpretation relates to the original, and... boy am I glad I didn't watch it. ;D

Except for maybe 109, I might have to check that out after all.

Free Allison and Lydia!
