The Unspoken Cover Revealed!(also a contest).

Or, see below...

And the official cover copy:

Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.

But all that changes when the Lynburns return.

The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the- Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?

Sarah Rees Brennan brings Gothic romance kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century with a funny, modern heroine who can take care of herself, an angry, beautiful boy who needs to be saved, and the mysterious forces that bring them together and tear them apart.

I hope that you guys are one millionth as much in love as I am.

And Unspoken will be out on September 11 so that my Kami can come on the Smart Chicks tour, which I am extremely excited about!.

I love this cover so much! It looks supper attractive and I love the continuation it has around the back so that it look like Jared(?) is leaning on the spine. Having one of them on the front and one of them on the back was a great decision.

I think it's great that you had a part in the cover art making process. So few authors have that privilege. ^_^

Jared, indeed. ;) I like it because they're nowhere near each other and doing different stuff yet part of the same picture. I'm so glad you do!

Eek! Just in time for my birthday on the 27th :) DEAR WORLD: THIS BOOK IS ALL I WANT.

Is there a chance the tour might still be a work-in-process and venture to NYC in the least? (Crossing my fingers for luck.) If not, I shall just have to have a field trip to Philadelphia! It's not all that far and would be totally worth the trek! And I could preen the entire way back by having the beautiful cover on display as I read it. (Ignoring how I get motion sick and would most likely take a bus. Hmmm.)

I think that the Smart Chicks tour is pretty set, but should I come to NYC for other reasons I will be certain to let people know!

So so lovely!

This is probably the most attractive book cover I've ever seen. I'll have to buy the real book and take care of the dust jacket along with getting my Kindle book!

*beams* Success for me on two fronts! I do love this cover, and I super want it to succeed partly because a) well, my book, clearly and partly because b) I do want to keep this cover design and see the two other covers... oh they'll be so pretty...

The cover is gorgeous and I want to add it to my bookshelf right now.

P.S. Might DC be added to the tour? I can drive to Philly, but I would totally take you out for drinks if you came to my town.
Mar. 14th, 2012 04:18 pm (UTC)
I fear the tour is entirely set, though I would love to come to DC sometime. ;) *psychically convinces bookshops to ask her* ;)

It's BEAUTIFUL. What a lovely cover. And I am currently reading a romance of sorts in which the heroine is beautiful and smart but NOT taking care of herself despite being so obviously capable of it, so I can't wait for this. It's also coming out on my birthday, so it's like a PRESENT.

I am Kermit-flailing at this cover! Oodles of Gothic gorgeousness! Creepy iron gates! Beautiful yet spooky old house! Girl solving mysteries! I WANTS THE PRECIOUS!!

(Help! I can't stop using exclamation points!)

September 11? My birthday is the next week. Perfect timing! *giggles* *reads cover copy again*
