The Unspoken Cover Revealed!(also a contest).

Or, see below...

And the official cover copy:

Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.

But all that changes when the Lynburns return.

The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the- Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?

Sarah Rees Brennan brings Gothic romance kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century with a funny, modern heroine who can take care of herself, an angry, beautiful boy who needs to be saved, and the mysterious forces that bring them together and tear them apart.

I hope that you guys are one millionth as much in love as I am.

And Unspoken will be out on September 11 so that my Kami can come on the Smart Chicks tour, which I am extremely excited about!.

gorgeous and fits with my something pink or pinkish icon rule.

That is a GORGEOUS cover, and if I didn't already know I liked your books, seeing that on the shelf would make me buy it! And the story sounds very intriguing...kind of Touch Not The Cat-ish, with a twist. I can't wait to read it!

Oooooh, that cover is stunning! I'm looking forward to this book SO MUCH. ♥

I LOVE it! Not only the cover, but the blurb. I can't wait to read it.

The silhouettes are brilliant. Is this the same illustrator of the cover of The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate?

Yes, Beth White! She's a genius.

It's beautiful! I can't wait to sell it to people. *looks up Beth White* Oh, she did Deathless and The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate as well! You are in gorgeous book company, Sarah. *beams* (It, ah, does not hurt that I love those books and am very excited about yours!) I love the way the front and back parts of the cover play off each other--active gate-opening vs leaning, looming gates vs open space--and the branching foliage that links them. It'll be lovely wrapped around the book--the actual pages both separating and connecting the figures.

*climbs down off nerd stepstool*

And I know you do not control these things, but you are always welcome in Boston. :)

You are extremely kind! And my last event in Boston was lots of fun, so I would love to do another. ;)

She did, yes! Beth White is a genius. And yes, I love how the whole book is an art piece, talking about the characters.

It's gorgeous and I want it on my shelf with a quickness. Can't wait, Sarah!

It's beautiful! I love it! I am very happy for you and your joy at the lovely cover.

I am a little sad that I already have the book coming from bookdepository, which will probably have the uk cover, which might still be lovely and or cool, but I really like this one... Oh, well.

*wants to read this*

...ahem. In all honestly, that's stunning and I'm very excited indeed to finally get to read it. And Sorry-in-the-Vale is all kinds of brilliant. Diana Wynne Jones would be proud. On which note, did you know that a village near mine, Cold Aston, was briefly changed to Aston Blanc by the Victorians, who thought Cold Aston sounded too gloomy? As a kid, not knowing that Blanc was French, it seemed like the stupidest decision ever, because obviously young Lucinda believed that being blank was far worse than being cold...

...but, back on topic, Unspoken! My only woe is having to wait until September...

I have read the book and I am happy for it is brilliant and I am sad for now I have finished reading it.

I see a road trip to Philly in my not-so-near future. :)

wow, sooooo pretty. *wants*

As an artist I have a question I'm not sure you can answer.... do you know if she did this traditionally (as in actually using physical paper and cutting it by hand) or digitally (using Adobe Illustrator or some similar program)?
