The Unspoken Cover Revealed!(also a contest).

Or, see below...

And the official cover copy:

Kami Glass loves someone she’s never met . . . a boy she’s talked to in her head ever since she was born. She wasn’t silent about her imaginary friend during her childhood, and is thus a bit of an outsider in her sleepy English town of Sorry-in-the-Vale. Still, Kami hasn’t suffered too much from not fitting in. She has a best friend, runs the school newspaper, and is only occasionally caught talking to herself. Her life is in order, just the way she likes it, despite the voice in her head.

But all that changes when the Lynburns return.

The Lynburn family has owned the spectacular and sinister manor that overlooks Sorry-in-the-Vale for centuries. The mysterious twin sisters who abandoned their ancestral home a generation ago are back, along with their teenage sons, Jared and Ash, one of whom is eerily familiar to Kami. Kami is not one to shy away from the unknown—in fact, she’s determined to find answers for all the questions Sorry-in-the- Vale is suddenly posing. Who is responsible for the bloody deeds in the depths of the woods? What is her own mother hiding? And now that her imaginary friend has become a real boy, does she still love him? Does she hate him? Can she trust him?

Sarah Rees Brennan brings Gothic romance kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century with a funny, modern heroine who can take care of herself, an angry, beautiful boy who needs to be saved, and the mysterious forces that bring them together and tear them apart.

I hope that you guys are one millionth as much in love as I am.

And Unspoken will be out on September 11 so that my Kami can come on the Smart Chicks tour, which I am extremely excited about!.

Poster art? Yes please!!

It is lovely and haunting and very, very different. I approve.

A funny, modern heroine and an angry, beautiful boy who needs saving...this sounds oddly familiar...the last time I read this pairing, it was pretty awesome...now where did I find them?

(Query: Were you still emailing the cover artist after she disappeared? Maybe hoping she'd come back when she saw your desperation? And is the theory actually that she murdered someone? Because, really...these things KEEP HAPPENING to you.)

Uh, where did you find them, or am I being dense? ;)

We tried emailing the cover artist a lot! I am pretty sure she didn't murder anyone, but you NEVER CAN TELL.

These days, however, I simply try to sneak love notes to Beth White all the livelong. I am so glad you like!

I'm pretty sure I found them because I followed a link to a film parody to this LiveJournal account, and then I found out the lady writing it was also writing A Real Book that was being Published, and then I tracked that book down and never looked back...

(Incidentally, I received the Demon's trilogy for Christmas. I may have squealed and petted them and otherwise cast longing glances while opening the rest of my gifts that made my family look at me strangely. I don't really care.)

Oh! Heh, I am sorry, I WAS being dense. I guess I don't think of Nick and Mae (right? Or is it the other set?) in those terms at all, but thank you very much. ;) Ah, musical chair protags, untold confusion!

I did have Nick and Mae in mind, but come to think of it, Alan and Sin fall into those categories as well. Huh.

Well, everybody needs to be saved and everybody gets angry and everybody's funny (because people without a sense of humour are not interesting to write about...) sometimes.

They're general enough terms, but I usually think of them as applying most to someone, like, Jamie was the funny one of the DL books, in the same way Kami's funny, and Jared is the most vulnerable character in the new series.
