So Unspoken will be out in forty-eight days, and you guys have not seen the UK cover yet! But now comes the time for me to SHOW IT TO YOU.

Whose fault is the delay, dear readers? Mine. I was a horrorshow about this cover. Thank you, Simon & Schuster UK, for bearing with me: they gave me a photoshoot (SO FANCY! I am so not deserving) so we could have a shot with a girl who looks like Kami with a boy who looks like Jared, they bore with me going 'brighter! More! Different hair? What if we...'

They bore with EVERYTHING. We went through at least ten versions of this cover. And here it is, indisputably the most beautiful, for your viewing pleasure!

I hope you like it!

I am also in the midst of a Major Website Overhaul And Enbeautifying which is taking longer than I hoped (but is going to be so enbeautiful!) So here is where I am going to be in the next couple of weeks, JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW.

Because I live in Indianapolis, and I happen to know the CSM at the Noblesville B&N. She is awesome and loves YA and is incredibly supportive of YA. :)

Yay for enbeautification!

(although, must say, happy to be getting the US version of the book, because the scherenschnitte is SOOO PRETTTY)

So, is that your US book tour for the Autumn, or will you be in the States elsewhere for more time than that?

I will be back to do STUFFS in September. And October and November, actually. America: seein' a lot of me. ;)

I am so happy to have two wonderfully beautiful covers. ;)

*has vapors*

Do I have to buy anything special in particular or do I just... show up? I don't know how these things work!

Also, I really like this cover and super appreciate seeing models who actually look like the characters, but I'm looking forward to the American cover. >.> It's so pretty and unique.

Just show up, though if you fancy buying anyone's book I am sure it will be most appreciated by us and the store! But really we are most happiness to see people. ;) And I am excited to be in Tulsa!

Oh it's beautiful! I usually don't like photo covers, but this is just gorgeous. I am sososo excited for this book!

Love it. Love that the characters are actually properly represented on the cover instead of, well, you know, random beautiful people in dresses. :) Though, I am still partial to the US cover. I really enjoyed this novel and can't wait to have a final copy in my hands!

*beams* I'm so glad you like it.

So close, and yet Tulsa's still at least a 4.5 hour drive right in the midst of Quarter End (aka insanity at work). Not to mention the only single-day event that I've so far talked myself into driving that far for are regency-style balls... Which are surprisingly not that common (hence the driving), but entirely worth it. But should you ever find yourself wandering through Kansas City and need a place to stay, I do have two extra bedrooms which are not usually in use...

So... do we have a US cover for Unspoken yet? I'm always so sad when I like the UK covers better, so it is with some temerity that I ask. But I can't wait to read the book! I'm so excited about the storyline. The not-so-imaginary friend is one of my favorite storylines. I read Touch Not the Cat in middle school, and I've been fascinated with the idea ever since.

We do have a US cover, and I think it is really beautiful, and I hope you will agree. ;) http://sarahtales.livejournal.com/195290.html

That's an awesome cover! I have to admit I like the US one better (I like that Kami is more independent on that cover!), but this one is gorgeous too. Ahhhhhh I am so excited for this!

Did you know The Demon's Lexicon (among 235 other titles) is part of a poll by NPR to determine best-ever YA novels?

Well, whispering secrets or opening gates, both Kami-ish things to do I think. ;)

I have seen that! I am very honoured.

"Unspoken will be out in forty-eight days"

This may be why Waterstones looked at me funny when I went in and demanded it last week. :/

Awesome cover!

Alas, I am nowhere near the signings, but have a fantastic time!!!!

I'm nowhere near the signings though I so want to go!! So many awesome authors in one place. Plus, it'd be great to see you again. :)

I have Unspoken e-galley and will be getting to it next month. I cannot wait! Also, finished Team Human and loved it. Review will be up next week, I think. My schedule's all over the place so I have no idea offhand and am too lazy to check, lol.

Any chance you'll be the SF Bay area anytime soon? :D

Wow, it's lovely! Surprisingly, given the two side by side, I would have thought this was the US cover, since normally US covers go for photographs and the UK for drawings. (The shift from drawing!Nick and drawing!Mae to photo!Sin though is probably a hint that trends are changing in the UK.) Anyway, it's rare that I like both US and UK covers, but... I really do love both! (A part of me hopes that the US cover isn't as pink as it looks on my computer though.)
Jul. 25th, 2012 04:17 am (UTC)
In person the US cover is more red. It was inspired by roses. ;)

Tulsa to Indiana?

What do I have to do to get you to to come to St. Louis, Missouri on your way in between?

Should I beg? I can beg very prettily, or have gorgeous boys beg prettily on my behalf...
I can bribe! I can find a nice bookstore for you to appear in.
I can offer you foods! And Adventure!
Jul. 25th, 2012 03:59 am (UTC)
Absolutely love the cover!! So happy they went with models that looked like your characters :D!! CONGRATS!!
