Tell the Wind and Fire COVER and excerpt

Originally published at Sarah Rees Brennan. You can comment here or there.

I know I have been very quiet lately, but I promise I have been working very hard behind the scenes, and soon you will see the results!

This is not all the news I have. I have MORE NEWS THAN THIS.

But this is the fanciest thing that has ever happened to me as a writer, because my book is in Entertainment Weekly, and Entertainment Weekly is for fancy celebrities! I feel like I should get my book’s autograph.

HERE is the cover and the beginning of the book, REVEALED! on Entertainment Weekly!

(Did I mention yet it’s in Entertainment Weekly?)

I hope you like the book and the excerpt. Stay tuned for… WAY MORE NEWS… coming soon.

EW is one of my favorite magazines, and I'm thrilled that they covered you in it! You're certainly worthy of their attention!!!

Aw you are so sweet!

The cover is beautiful and atmospheric. I like how the city is casting a kind of chiaroscuro onto the title, although I could maybe do without the red.

The excerpt is also beautiful and atmospheric! Lucie (whose name, I realize, is from Dickens, but still, how perfect) has a lovely way of evoking the opulence (and menace?) of all that light.

I am looking forward to reading this one, and I hope it's a huge success for you. I hope the gorgeous cover - which seems designed to appeal to a broad audience, maybe? - and the fancy EW article mean that your publisher is really getting behind it!

My publisher is certainly most kind to get me the EW article, and it was a very surprising and very exciting thing for me. ;) I share your kind hopes and am very glad you enjoyed the excerpt, specially as descriptive writing is my bugbear!

Congrats on your fanciness!! :-P I am listening to the librivox reading of Tale of Two Cities currently in my car during commutes, and am super excited to read Tell the Wind and Fire!

*beams* I think it's going to be so interesting to see how the book is received by Tale-of-2 readers and non-Tale-of-2 readers alike. I am super excited too!

Haha, true! Everyone knows you draw energy from your readers' tears, which gets you to write another book, which gets us to read another book, which causes laughter and tears....it's the circle of life, really.
